I meant to post this awhile ago. A few weeks ago a gamestop manager wrote a little piece about what it's actually like at gamestop and why we should cut them some slack on their practices. I found the article through slashdot. here's the slashdot page and here's the original article. The only thing I really wasn't aware of was the idea of employees being able to check out new games. Even if you're ok with gutted games, once those games touch the inside of their respectives consoles they are not NEW.
What I really wanted to share was this site that someone linked to in the comments on slashdot. It is called the Acts of Gord. Basically a chronicle of this small shop that sold and rented games and the guy who ran it (Gord). It is hilarious, so check it out. Click here for the Acts of Gord.

When I first heard that 3 was going to be handled by Neversoft, I was skeptical. However, I decided to give them a chance and not completely dismiss it.

I didn't think it would take me another 3 months to update. Oh well.

After playing through 60+ hours of Magna Carta, over the past month, I've beaten the game. I really wanted to like this game, considering how cool I think the story is, but the battle system makes me want to hurt people. I couldn't recommend this game to anyone.
I'm really excited to play God of War. I've heard nothing, but good things about it. The last few games I've played through have been long RPGs and I'm sick of them. I still have Valkyrie Profile 2 and FFXII to play and a few other RPGs, but I'm going to take a break for a little bit before I start on them. After God of War, I'll probably play Shadow of The Colossus.
( Warning: Me rambling on about Guitar Hero )
I'm hungry... Need food.

I think I'm going to stop playing Guitar Hero for awhile. This is more of an exercise of my will power than me not wanting to play it anymore. Isn't the first step on the road to recovery from an addiction admitting you have one? It isn't like I have a shortage of other games I could be playing.
So, right now I'm playing Magna Carta, an RPG for the ps2. I would probably give it a 5 out of 10. The graphics are amazing and the story seems worthwhile. The biggest problem is the battle system. In short, it tries to create something like Shadow Hearts' battle system and fails, horribly, catastrophically.
I've always thought of myself as a gameplay comes first person. I like graphics and the story should be there, but if the gameplay is excellent, I can be forgiving. However, if the game play is horrid, I don't feel like I should even bother with the game. I would say Magna Carta's battle system isn't so bad that it isn't playable, but you have to be a very forgiving person.
I picked up God of War and Shadow of the Colossus the other day. My next game will probably be one of those. I still need to finish Trauma Center for the DS. I'll probably get to that over the next couple of weeks.

Well, I've decided to join the world of livejournal. I honestly don't know how often I'll post anything, but it should be kind of fun.
