Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!

I finally got around to reading Pride and Prejudice and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies a few weeks back. I thought the original was entertaining and enjoyable. I found myself rooting for Mr. Darcy about midway through and he was probably my favorite character.

I'm glad I read the original before reading the zombified version. I don't think it's necessary to do so, but I believe a little bit of the enjoyment comes from the way Seth Grahame-Smith reworks some of the characters' storylines. If you didn't like the original, then chances are you won't like this version. The overall plot remains the same. I think Seth was clever in some parts and other times the zombies felt forced, but overall it flowed nicely. He also pokes some fun at the story itself. If you like zombies and Pride and Prejudice, then I can recommend this.

On another note, after watching the first two seasons of True Blood over the summer, I've gotten the itch to read the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I've got the first eight books on the way from Amazon and I'm looking forward to it.

I stumbled upon this a little bit ago. Now, I've never read Pride and Prejudice, but I find this intriguing. How can something with zombies be bad? :) I think I might pick up Pride and Prejudice and read it before I get the zombified version.

Speaking of parodies, I wonder how many of you on my friends list have read "Bored of The Rings"? I recommend it.
